The Jig is Up -- Day #7

Part 2 of the "guest room" experiment is officially over. The Drama Queen figured out that I was taking pictures of the guest room every day. However, the pictures will continue at least until Media Guy and Future Vet come back for their winter break.

Today's picture is a little different. The view from the door afforded only a tantalizing glimpse of what can be seen more clearly in this picture.

Day #7 -- Saturday, December 5, 2009

There is yarn and a knitting pattern on the floor! Otherwise the room looks about the same as yesterday's picture. Even the water bottle under the couch is still there.

In other news, the Wizard was home for the day so he decided to destroy the kitchen.

Though it may not be immediately obvious, this activity is related to getting out of Dodge. That kitchen light fixture is ugly, among other crimes. We've been talking about taking it out for years. Our plan is to remove that enormous box (it was apparently built with 2x8 boards) and replace those lights with a central ceiling fan with lights. Then we have to get someone to come in and fix the holes that will be left in the ceiling by the removal of all this. No problem, though. There are a few other wall and ceiling things to be fixed, so we can get it all done at the same time.

Last, but not least, I managed to continue knitting on the smaller of the two Wallabys it looks like I am going to be making. The body (up to the bottom of the sleeves) and the first sleeve are just about finished:

This picture shows the front of the sweater, which includes an integrated pouch (hence the "wallaby" name) for cold little hands. After I knit the second sleeve (tomorrow?), I can attach both sleeves to the body and continue. Eventually there will be a hood as well.
